A Day to Remember

Experiences build up who we are and what we are. We learn from our bad experiences and value our good experiences. Personally I wanted to cherish every single thing happened to me from my worst day to my awesome day even to the nothing so special day. Because I believed even my memories will fade my heart will always remember if we whole heartedly value our life experiences.

Now I’m in college, it would be new adventures, new friends, new lessons and new experiences to make and I have hundred ideas now running in my head right now. Now for almost 3 months in college I gain happy memories and pressure moments but what struck me most was what happened on August 24, 2013 let me tell you the story.

That day was the 2nd University Fun Run (last year was the 1st) and all students are required to join specially for the NSTP students. I woke up early to support the program even though I’m still so sleepy and tired. Before the run started we all executed first the warm-up exercise then at 6am it officially started. Like the usually after hearing the word “GO” most of the students started running but I didn’t because it will just waste my energy so I just jog then walk and jog again. After finishing the 3k ran it felt so satisfying even we are all so sweaty and tired and also it makes me proud seeing most of the winners are from my course.  End of Fun Run but not yet of my story, around 12:00pm at the same day under NSTP of Ma’am Abarca especially BS Computer Science freshmen (my course) will gather to the Atrium of the University because we will be the organizer of a program; Gymnastics Workshop for the students who will join Cheer Dancing on September 02, 2013. Being the host of a program isn’t easy job; you have to planned everything and organize it well. Leadership skills is needed in this kind of job, leading them what they need to do and following what have been tasked to you. I remember during my high school I am always the one who organized school programs since I was the President of the Student Council so I know how  hard it was to lead people and make them follow your orders and I know how it felt when they are not supporting your program, means few participants but happily that day there are many participating the event maybe because they will be disqualified during the cheer dance contest for taking the workshop for granted since the event was made for them to perform the right execution of the stunts during the contest. We are already assigned a task beforehand, we arranged the Atrium and we put a section for registration, section for first aid and section for refreshment. Initiative is needed in this kind of things. I was assigned to be the emcee of the event, not my thing but I have no choice though is fun. I can’t get over when I throw a joke (*please put you joke that time MR. CABRERA in this parenthesis) well it’s my nature I always fooling around with my stupid jokes but I can’t deny I make people laugh. In the middle of the event after becoming the emcee I become an assistant in the registration section because I got bored then later become an assistant in the refreshment section but actually I was the one availing the refreshments.  The program lasted 4hours and 30minutes but that wasn’t the end yet it was after restoration, arranging and putting all the things back to its places which are the tiring part because everyone wanted to go home especially me.

It seem a ordinary event to other people but what make it special to me is that it was the first program we organized in college and it was successful. I hope I could get another chance organizing an event because after the stress of organizing the feeling of success is there and happiness of doing great. It worth a time and worth experience.
